James "Jimmy" Wesley Jennings

August 21, 1929 — June 11, 2014

On Wednesday, June 11, James Wesley Jennings passed away. James "Jimmy" was born August 21, 1929, in Meigs County, Tennessee, to Dan and Cleo Bowman Jennings. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Buddy and Dan, Jr. He retired from S.E. Huffman Company of Clover, South Carolina in 1991. For the past fourteen years, he was on the staff of CAM (Crisis Assistance Ministry). Survivors include his wife of sixty-seven years, Marie Case Jennings, two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry Jennings and Shirley of Decatur, TN, Michael Jennings and Karen of Kings Mountain, NC, one sister and brother-in-law, Selvia and G.D. Smith of Decatur, TN, one sister-in-law, Betty Harmon, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Zion Baptist Church at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 14, with Pastor Leo Kuykendall officiating. Burial will follow at the Mausoleum of Peace in Gaston Memorial Park. Receiving of friends is 6 - 8 pm. on Friday, June 13, 2014 at Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: CAM, 805 West Airline Ave., Gastonia, NC 28052 or Zion Baptist Church, 2437 Propst St., Gastonia, NC 28056 Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
