James Britt Wells

James "Britt" Wells, 49, of Gastonia passed away July 16, 2013 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia. He was born November 13, 1963 in Atlanta, GA. A graveside service will be held 11:00 am Saturday at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City, officiated by Rev. Jimmy Greene. The family will receive friends from 7:00 -9:00 pm Friday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd. Gastonia, NC 28052. He was formally employed with Keith Hawthorne Hyundai in Lowell and Rogers Kia in Shelby. He loved playing football, listening to music, and playing the guitar. He went to East Lincoln High School and was a star football player. He is survived by: his loving wife of over 16 years of the home, Tracy Whitworth Wells; son, Zachary Wells of the home; daughters, Emily Wells of Port St. Lucie, FL, Jordan Whitener of Gastonia; brother, Nicholas Ballard and spouse Laura of Gastonia; grandchildren, Kyleigh Womble of Port St. Lucie, FL, Leland Scott Botts of Gastonia; mother, Sherry McAuley Ballard. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Jim and Kathleen McAuley. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
