James Watson Jr.

Gastonia, NC James Watson, Jr., age 67, passed away October 15, 2013 at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia. He was born March 24, 1946 in Cherokee County, NC, son of Bertha Stewart Watson Gibby and the late James Watson Sr. James loved his family, always put them first and his primary goal in life was to provide for all their needs. A funeral service will be held 10:30 am on Saturday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Bobby Gilley and Pastor Sam Barnette. The family will receive friends 10:00 to 10:30 am on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home. The interment will follow the service at Olney Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Gastonia. In addition to his mother, he was survived by: daughter, Rhonda Watson; brothers and sisters in-law, Jimmy and Linda Watson, Ronnie Watson, Johnny and Christi Gibby; granddaughter, Brittany Braswell; special friend, Carolyn Hunter Johnson; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Geneva Watson; father, Kelbur Gibby; father in-law, Horace Clay Conard.
