James David Warren Sr.

James David Warren, 71, of Gastonia, passed away July 19, 2012 at Gaston Memorial Hospital. He was born April 23, 1941 in Camden County, NJ, son of the late Harvey C. and Emma Brandschett Warren. Mr. Warren was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed. He was a retired Chief of the US Navy and after his retirement, worked for and retired from the US Postal Service. James was a member of East Garrison Baptist Church, an amateur HAM radio operator and member of a band called "The Hustlers" in the 60's. A funeral service will be held 10 am on Tuesday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Rev. Jack Flemming. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be at the VA National Cemetery, Salisbury following the service on Tuesday. He is survived by: his wife of 7 years, Lana Warren; son, James David Warren Jr. of Puerto Rico; daughter and son in-law, Suzanne and John Turcotte of Virginia; brothers, Robert Warren and wife, Susan of Colorado, John Warren and wife, Cora of New Jersey; grandson, Kevin Michael Whitfield. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 222 S. Church St., Suite 303, Charlotte, NC 28202. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
