James Burton Tucker Jr.

James Burton Tucker, Jr., 66, of Gastonia, NC, passed away June 8, 2025, at his son's residence.

He was born in Gaston County, NC, on October 31, 1958, to the late James Burton Tucker, Sr., and Lucille Ramsey Tucker.

James's hands told his story. James was a man of few words; however, he made those words count. He liked to joke around and give you a good scare. He loved to fish. He loved going to the mountains to enjoy the beauty of nature and to fish. He was a hard working family man. He loved his family unconditionally.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mercedes Tucker; and sisters, Edwina Godwin, Elizabeth Diane Tucker, and Debra Lee Tucker.

James is survived by his children, James Burton Tucker, III; Elisa Brittain and spouse Kevin; Nelson Castillo; Ileana Castillo; Michael King and spouse Jessica; Scotty King; and David Torres; five grandchildren; sister, Glenda Mason; two nieces; one nephew; one great niece and one great nephew.

A visitation will be held Thursday, June 12, 2025, 6:00-8:00 pm, at the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 216 Archie Whitesides Road, Gastonia, NC.

A graveside service will be held Friday, June 13, 2025, at 11: 00 am, at Gaston Memorial Park (old section) with the Rev. Brian Elwell officiating.
