James Ray Thomas

James Ray Thomas born on May 18, 1949, at the age of 75 born in Stephens Georgia, went home to be with Jesus on December 12, 2024, in his home in Dallas NC. He was the son of the late Leo and Teresa Burnette Thomas.

A loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and great grandfather. James enjoyed his family and working on cars most of his life, he retired from Pharr Yarns and always enjoyed working outside and working around the house and most of all he enjoyed going to church and talking to everyone with a whistle. He survived by his loving wife, Minnis Thomas of 57 years; sons, Timothy and Ramona Thomas, Rodney and Karen Thomas; daughters, Tangela and Gene Anderson, and Mindy and Larry Adams; siblings, Gail LeCroy, and Cathy Thomason; grandchildren, David Wheeler, Cody Thomas, Heather Foster, Steven Philbeck, Jennifer Medlin, Jessica Harkey, Cory Thomas, Autumn and Amber Adams, and Aaron Anderson; great grandchildren, Jordan and Alston Wheeler, Nick Barnes, Austin and KK Foster, CJ and Lolly Thomas, and Brantley and Barrett Philbeck; and great-great- granddaughter, Raelynn Grace Foster.

James is preceded in death by his siblings, Jerry Thomas, Paul Thomas, Judy Thomason, Gary (Bug) Thomas, and Rick Thomas.

The celebration of life visitation will be held at Revival Tabernacle 212 S. Hwy 27 Stanley NC 28164 by Bishop John Mayberry on Monday, December 16, 2024, at 12:30-2:00pm, with a graveside service following at 2:30pm at Evergreen Cemetery - 1462 Armstrong Ford Rd, Belmont NC 28012.
