James Sharpe

James "Clay" Sharpe, 51, formerly of Freedom Mill Road, Gastonia, passed away March 15, 2014 at the Robin Johnson Hospice House in Dallas. A Gaston County native, he was born February 25, 1963, son of the late Walter E. Sharpe Sr. and Hazel Heath Sharpe. James loved to go fishing with his family and friends. He is survived his sons, Richard and Tyler Sharpe; daughter, Chantel Sharpe; brother, Gene Sharpe; sisters, Laura Sharpe and Rebecca Whitaker; and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of James' life will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia. The family will receive friends following the service. The service will be officiated by Rev. Jerry Millwood. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Gaston Hospice, P.O. Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054. Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
