James Randolph Meadows

James Randolph Meadows, 77, of Gastonia, passed away April 25, 2013 at his home. He was born March 22, 1936 in Gaston County son of the late Joseph S. Meadows and Velma Brown Meadows Mr. Meadows was of Baptist faith. He served 11 years as a cook in the US Marines.He also served in the Korean War where he earned the rank of Sergeant. James was a member of the Masons and the Shriners. A receiving of friends will be held 2:00 to 3:30 pm on Sunday at Sunset Lane Baptist Church 1001 North 12 St. Bessemer City. Interment will be private. Mr. Meadows is survived by: daughters, Sharon Thorne of Gastonia, Lori Samson and husband Greg of New Mexico; brother, Bobby Meadows; sisters Joanne Grigg, Linda Tilley; grandchildren, Faith Samson, Thomas Basco; great grandchildren, Makayla, Savannah and Aden Basco. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by : his wife of 33 years Frances Davis Meadows; brother, Harold Meadows; grandchildren, Jonothan and Hope Samson.
