James "J.W." Mclean

James "J.W." McLean, 86, went to be with the Lord, January 2, 2017 at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas.

He was born November 11, 1930 in Catawba County, the son of the late Walter B. McLean and Lillie Baily McLean.

He was a member of Rustic Hills Baptist Church.  J.W. was a former pastor and evangelist.  He was always happy and humble.

Left to cherish his memories are his sister Mina Cockrell; grandchildren Scott and Todd Sherrill; 4 great-grandchildren; step-children; grandchildren; great- grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Lillie Hogue McLean and daughter Rebecca Sherrill.

A funeral service, officiated by the Revs. Jason Dowdell, Ken Faulkenberry and Andy Raines, will be held 12 Noon on Thursday at Rustic Hills Baptist Church, 101 Rustic Hills Circle, Bessemer City.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will be in Westview Gardens.
