James Lester Mccolpin

James Lester McColpin, 63, of Bessemer City, passed away March 6, 2014 at Caromont Regional Medical Center. He was born January 18, 1951 in Elizabethtown, KY, son of the late Roy F. and Antonia McColpin. Visitation will be 1 - 1:45 pm on Friday, March 14th, with a funeral service to follow at 2 pm at Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC, officiated by Rev. Sam Barnette. Entombment will be Private. Jim was a supervisor for Chalmers and Kubeck, an Air Force Veteran, and a licensed private pilot. James is survived by brothers, Roger L. McColpin and wife, Ruthann of Kentucky, Col. Larry D. McColpin and wife, Lisa of Virginia, Gary G. McColpin and wife, Debbie of Kentucky; nieces, Michelle and Antonia; nephews, Jared, Gary Jr., Darrell Drum and his best friend and companion, his dog, Casey. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Laura Martin McColpin and brothers, Roy D. and Thomas H. McColpin. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
