James Bruce Mcbee, Sr.

James Bruce McBee, Sr., 82, of Gastonia passed away December 28, 2014 at the Robin Johnson House in Dallas. He was born May 18, 1932 a native of Gaston County, the son of the late Fred and Dorothy McBee. James was a veteran of the US Army who served during the Korean War and an avid golfer. He is survived by his son, James "Bruce" McBee, Jr. and wife, Jennifer; daughter, Elizabeth McBee; brothers, Larry McBee and wife, Maggie, Pat McBee and wife, Louise, Danny McBee and wife, Belinda, Bobby McBee and wife, Wanda; sisters, Billie Payne and Irene Hardin and husband, Ray; grandchildren, Allison Burroughs and Jessica, Zack and Joseph McBee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gearldine Chastain McBee; daughter, Dorothea Jane McBee Burroughs; brothers, Jack Jenkins, Buster McBee, sister, Gail Bell and brother-in-law, Bob Payne. A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm on Friday at Greene Funeral Service - South Chapel - 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Bob Smith. Visitation will be 6:00 - 8:00 pm Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Gaston Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Gaston Hospice - PO Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
