James "The Legend" Alan Liles

James Alan "The Legend" Liles, 76, of Bessemer City, NC, was called home to heaven on January 7, 2025, at his home.

He was born on July 6, 1948, in Cleveland County, to the late Jim Liles and Thelma Bramlett Liles.

Alan loved fishing and watching the Shelby High Lions play football. He was at most games until his health began to decline.

He is survived by his daughter, Shelley (Danny) Navey of Shelby; three granddaughters, Brittany (Clay) Dedmon, Taylor Packer (Austin Pearson) of Shelby, and Kelli Navey (Alastair Swan) of Charlotte; and two great granddaughters, Hadleigh, and Bristol Pearson of Shelby.

The family will have a small gathering at a later time to spread the ashes per Alan's request.
