James Willie Lassiter Jr.

James Willie Lassiter Jr., 80, of Bessemer City, passed away on July 12, 2017, at his home.

He was born March 23, 1937, in Pitt County, NC, son of the late James Willie Lassiter Sr. and Nonia Corneluis Lassiter.

A funeral service will be held 3:00 pm Sunday, July 16, 2017, at New Life Baptist Church, 614 South 11 ^th St. Bessemer City, officiated by  Rev. Dennis Gomez and Rev. Randy Richardson.

The family will receive friends 6-8 pm at the church on Saturday, July 15, 2017.

Burial will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.

Mr. Lassiter is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Lura G. Lassiter; son, Jerry "Tater" Lassiter; daughters, Shelia Carr and Deborah Cape;  grandchildren, Danelle Cape, Brandy Lassiter, Cale Lassiter, Ashley Carr, Trey Carr ; seven great-grandchildren; beloved dog, Bella.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
