James Ronald "Jimmy" White

James Ronald "Jimmy" White, 67, of Sunset Beach, NC, formerly of Bessemer City, NC, died peacefully in his sleep after a long battle with lung cancer.

James was born March 12, 1956, in Ridgeway, Virginia to Roy Lance and Mary Ida White.

Jimmy attended Drewry Mason High School in Ridgeway and worked as a painter at Coca-Cola in Charlotte for years, then as a trailer mechanic until he retired to Sunset Beach, NC, where he enjoyed the beach and watching the variety of wildlife in the area. Seeing the bald eagle was a favorite of his. His rescue fur kitty, Gray that he was very protective of and loved so much.

He loved his family deeply and was loved so much in return.

He was preceded in death by his mother Ida White and father Roy "Buck" White; sisters, Sally Bryan, Betty Wingfield; brother, Michael White.

James is survived by his loving wife, Connie White; his daughters, Ginger Maher (Brian), Jamie Fox (David); son, Larry Riddle; grandchildren, Collin and Alec McCullough, Tyler, Eric and AJ Fox, Sydney and Will Farnsworth, Bryson and Madison Riddle. Bonus children, Jennifer Farnsworth (Bill), Jeffrey Boyles, Winston Beasley and Morgan Griffith. Sisters, Mary Sutton and Janet Carter of Ridgeway, Virginia. Brother, RW White (Judy) of Waynesville, NC.

A service to celebrate the life of James will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Road Gastonia, officiated by the Rev. Johnny Yarboro.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Cancer Services of Gaston County 306 South Columbia St. Gastonia, NC 28054.
