James John "Jim" Dimeo

James John "Jim" Dimeo, 89, of Gastonia, passed away on December 13, 2021, at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia.

He was born June 23, 1932, in Gaston County, son of the late Angelo and Mary Dimeo.

He owned Jim Dimeo's Welding for many years.

Jim was a member of the Gastonia Masonic Lodge #0369.

He raced cars before NASCAR even existed.

A gathering of family and friends will be held 4-6 pm Friday, December 17, 2021, at Greene Funeral Service, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd., Gastonia.

Jim is survived by his son, Victor Dimeo and wife Elaine; sister, Linda Dimeo Stiwalt and husband Howard; grandchild, Kelley Dimeo.

In addition to his parents Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Garnita "Nita" Dimeo.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, Gastonia.
