James "Mike" Ivey

James Michael "Mike" Ivey, 71, of Gastonia passed peacefully holding his beloved wife's hand, January 4, 2018 at his residence. He was born November 6, 1946 in Gaston County, NC, son of the late Howard J. Ivey and Eunice Huffstetler Ivey.
Mike was a business man who owned a commercial roofing and siding business, a local convenient store, and multiple rental houses. He loved his wife, family, and friends in the community. He was instrumental in the development of improving the community with paved roads and getting people city water and sewer. He gave from his heart anonymously, not to seek personal recognition, because he loved helping people in need.
A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 2:00 pm, Greene Funeral Service, 1503 South York Road, Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Jerry Millwood.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will be at Gaston Memorial Park.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 49 years, Sheila Bradshaw Ivey; brother Ronald Ivey.
In addition to his parents, Mike is preceded in death by his brothers Eugene, Donald, and Officer Jerry Ivey; sister Delores Parker.
Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral and Crematorium, Gastonia.
