James Douglas House

Jackson, TN James Douglas House "Jay" or "J.D." passed away January 6, 2013 at the Jackson Madison County Hospital, Jackson, TN, due to complications of pneumonia. He was born September 30, 1932 in White County, GA. Jay was 80 years old. Jay lived in Belmont, NC for 50 years. He most recently resided in Jackson, TN for the last 2 1/2 years. Jay was a beloved father, brother, uncle and friend. He was a joy to all who had the honor of knowing him. He will truly be missed, but forever live in our hearts. Jay was an avid fisherman, bowler and very much involved with the South Jackson Senior Center in Jackson, TN. He was admired by his Center friends and very much adored them as well. Jay was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Herman and Lily Jane House. He was also preceded in death by: his son, Ricky Douglas House.; brothers, Tilford, Ed, John, Curtis and Lamar House; sister, Bernice McAllister. He is survived by: his sister, Eloise Heidelberg and her husband, James Heidelberg of Jackson, TN; special nieces, Kim Jones of Gastonia, Penny Rankin of Jackson, TN; children, Marlene and James of Gastonia, Robbie of Myrtle Beach, SC. Visitation for Jay will be held at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, Saturday, 1:00 - 2:00 pm. A graveside service will be held 2:30 pm at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia. Local arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
