James "Jim" Henry Goforth

James "Jim" Henry Goforth, 86, of Gastonia, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2023, at The Greens, formerly known as the Brian Center, in Gastonia.

He was born on April 19, 1937, in York County South Carolina to the late Henry and Lillie Goforth.

Jim enjoyed his time reading his bible and spending time with his great-granddaughter Raelynn.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Edith Groman; five other sisters and one brother.

Jim is survived by his wife of 26 years Brenda Goforth; stepson James Johnson; stepdaughter, Rachel Hibberts and husband Joey; grandchildren, Joey Hibberts, Chloe Hibberts; great-grandchild, Raelynn Miller; and his special fur baby Iris.

A Memorial Service officiated by Pastor Austin Bullock will be held Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at 2:00 PM at West Fifth Avenue Freewill Baptist Church, 2145 W. 5 ^th Ave., Gastonia, NC 28052.
