James Lee Hendricks

James "Lee" Hendricks, 55, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

He was born June 24, 1966, native of Gaston Co, NC, son of Sarah Barnes Hendricks and the late James Elliott Hendricks.

Lee was a member of Temple Baptist Church and he loved to fish. He was a compassionate man who always helped those who were less fortunate or in need.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his grandmother Frances Barnes; and brother-in-law, Jimmy Pearson.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his step-son, Joseph Gathing; sister, Lori Pearson; nieces and nephews, Jimmy Pearson Jr. and wife, Rachel, Melanie Addis and husband, Joey, and Katie Crofts and husband, Wes; and great niece and nephew, Kendall and Cooper Addis.

A funeral service officiated by Pastor Scott Whitener, will be held 4pm on Monday, August 23, 2021, at Temple Baptist Church - 701 Littlejohn St, Gastonia, NC 28052.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will be private.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
