James was a man who truly left a lasting imprint on every person he met. Usually in the form of a joke they weren't expecting, or a smile they didn't know they needed. He lived his life proving he was hands-capable and his chair never kept him from his passions.
James was probably happiest with a white tail in his sights, one of the kids reeling in a big one, or that unmistakable smell of racing fuel and burnt rubber. He loved some racing, all kinds. His humor was infectious and his heart was even bigger.
James was the heart and center of his family. He was the best listener and he heard your heart. James set the gold standard for a son, brother and friend who knew exactly how to push your buttons, while simultaneously making you smile.
Nothing made James more proud than being an Uncle. He loved that title and teaching his nieces and nephew - capable is a state of mind, and rules...are mostly suggestions.
James shared a rare lifelong bond with Morgan Whitesides. She was his first sweetheart but forever best friend. Even though life kept them on separate paths, they remained each others anchors to the very end. There was no stronger love.
James is survived by his Mother Robin Poole, his sister Stephanie Poole, his sister Danielle and brother in law Mark Powell. Nieces Savannah and Shelby Powell and Nephew Gunner Powell. Also Survived by his best friend Michael Bradley and so many loved Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
The family would like everyone to please write down your favorite memory of James to share at the Celebration Of Life, Friday, May 1st, 2026 from 6-8 pm at Greenes Funeral Service, 1503 S York Road, Gastonia.
