James "Jimmy" Fortner, Jr.

James "Jimmy" Fortner, Jr., 53, of Mt. Holly, passed away February 14, 2016 at Levine Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville.

He was born September 22, 1962, a native of Gaston County, the son of Stella Frasure Fortner and the late James Elbert Fortner, Sr.

Jimmy was employed for over 32 years with Freightliner in Mt. Holly.

He was a devoted husband and loving father.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife for over 28 years, Kim Bradley Fortner; sons Beau and Drake Fortner, both of Mt. Holly; mother Stella Fortner, of Gastonia; sister Karen Fortner of Gastonia; niece Kara Emory of Garner; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bill and Belinda Bradley of Kings Mountain; numerous nieces and nephews; several loved aunts and uncles and his beloved boxer Dixie.

A memorial service will be held 3 pm Saturday at Greene Funeral Service – South Chapel – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Dickie Spargo.

The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Hospice and Palliative Care of Lincoln County, 107 N. Cedar Street, Lincolnton, NC 28092.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
