James "Jimmy" Elbert Wyatt

James "Jimmy" Elbert Wyatt, 70, of Gastonia, passed away May 4, 2018 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

He was born October 29, 1947 in Waynesville, NC, son of the late Andy Sanford and Sallie Gunter Wyatt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Charles Clinton Esslinger; daughter, Jennifer Wyatt; sister, Patsy Ruth Wyatt; and brother, Randy Stephen Wyatt.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving companion of almost 24 years, Jan Messer; sons, Steve Wyatt and wife Denise, Jamey Wyatt; stepdaughter, Stephanie Messer; sisters, Lucille Wyatt McGee, Judy Wyatt Summey, Janet Wyatt Horne and husband Keith, Donna Wyatt Beaty and husband Jack; brother, Bill Wyatt; and his beloved fur baby, Chevy.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Tuesday, May 8, at First United Methodist Church Chapel in Gastonia.
