James "Jim" Currence, 77, of Clover, passed away January 11, 2017 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 31, 1939, a native of York County, the son of the late David Berry Currence and Neva Boyd Currence.
James was a member of First United Methodist Church in Clover.
Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife of over 55 years, Linda J. Currence; son David P. Currence and wife Wanda; daughter Julie C. Grose and husband Eric; grandchildren Jana Currence, Heather Abrams, Caroline and Courtney Grose; two great-granddaughters and sisters Sara Currence and Margaret Ann Hook and husband John.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Alex Currence and sister Adelaide Currence.
A funeral service, officiated by Pastors Tommy Wilkes and Tony Adams, will be held 3 pm Sunday, January 15, 2017 at First United Methodist Church.
Receiving of friends and family will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Burial will be in Woodside Cemetery.
