James Cole

James Cole, 92, passed away Monday, June 5, 2023, at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia.

He was born January 22, 1931, in Cherokee County, NC to the late Clyde and Annie Mae Henderson.

James was a US Marine Corp veteran. He served in the Korean War. He worked at Eaton Corp. and operated his own trucking company. He also kept a bee garden. He was truly a jack of all trades.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Lugene Earley Cole.

James is survived by his daughters, Brenda Jackson, Debra Ann Sparks and husband Michael Reese; sister-in-law, Maxine Baker; grandchildren, Chasity Bolin and Shane Boyd; great-grandchildren, Lane Atchley, Grace Boyd and Alex Boyd.

Family will have a private graveside service at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, York, SC.
