James Brooks

James Brooks, 80, of Bessemer City went to be with the Lord on December 5, 2018.
He was born May 24, 1938, in Gaston County, son of the late Hurley Brooks and Louise Grant Brooks.
James was a long-time member of Parkdale Baptist Church, where he put his time and resources of being a blessing to foreign missions. He enjoyed sharing his faith with everyone and was a soul winner for the Lord. He enjoyed being a Bus Captain for the church.
He will be deeply missed by his entire family and friends.
Mr. Brooks was a veteran of the US Air Force.
He had worked for over 30 years at Manufacturing Services.
The family would like to give special thanks and gratitude to Senior TLC of Gastonia.
A celebration of James's life will be held Noon Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Michael Rice.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
James is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Frances Johnson Brooks; sons, Keith, Marty, Danny, Shane and wife Teresa; daughters, Tammy, Rhonda; brother, Leroy Brooks; thirteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Brooks.
Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
