James Taylor Bowman Jr.

James "Taylor" Bowman Jr., 73, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

A native of Gaston County, he was born on December 15, 1952 to the late James and Nell Bowman.

Taylor was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a very private gentleman who liked to keep to himself. He was a devoted father to his son.

He is survived by his son, David Wayne Bowman; cousins, Tom & Beth Kirksey; best friend, Joe.

A funeral service officiated by Pastor Dr. Josh Glandon will be held Wednesday, February 18,2026 12:00 PM, at Calvary Baptist Church, 3001 York Hwy. Gastonia. The family will receive friends from 11:30 - 12:00 prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the service at Hollywood Cemetery.
