James "Joe Bob" C. Scruggs

James C. "Joe Bob" Scruggs, 79, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Friday, February 4, 2022, at his residence.

He was born October 30, 1942, in Gaston Co, NC, son of the late Richmond Lorne Scruggs and Eva Lucille Coggins.

Joe Bob loved work, especially in his yard. He loved his family, especially Hitler. He enjoyed watching Westerns, especially with Charles Bronson.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Judy Scruggs; and daughter, Annette Detter.

Joe Bob is survived by his sons, David Scruggs, Mike Scruggs (Sandy), and Barry Scruggs (Lori); daughters, Angela Tarin (Michael), and Tracy "Hitler" Ferguson; sister, Dorothy; and a handful of grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service officiated by speaker Alexis Ferguson, will be held 2pm on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be held at Lakeview Memory Gardens, York, SC.
