James Calvin Bell

Dallas, NC James Calvin Bell, 72, passed away April 16, 2013, at CaroMont Regional Medical Center., Gastonia. He was born February 12, 1941 in Gaston County, son of the late Harvey and Irene Cavender Bell. Mr. Bell loved his family, the outdoors and Blue Grass Gospel Music. He attended Love Valley Baptist Church, Kings Mountain. James worked at Tommy's Drive-In for over 30 years and also Shoney's for over 30 years. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday at Love Valley Baptist Church, Kings Mountain, officiated by Rev. Barry Philbeck. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm on Thursday at the church. Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia. He is survived by: his wife, of 15 years, Nancy Anderson Bell; son, Dustin James Bell; daughter, Velvet Hannon and husband, Fred, step-children; Tommy Gibby and wife Tami, Bo Webb, Susan Henry and husband, Sam, Juanita Dean and husband, Danny, Sybil Elmore and husband, Tommy; brothers, Bo, Mike and Dave Bell; sisters, Shelia Bingham, Lennie Goforth; grandchild, Devon James Bell; a number of step grandchildren and great grandchildren.
