Jama Arnold

Jama Arnold, 53, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Wednesday, August 16, 2023, at Caromont Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Gaston County, on November 26, 1969, to Phyllis Gunning and the late James Hawkins.

Jama was a member of The Place Church in Gastonia. Jama loved children and never met a child she did not like. She was always giving to those she knew and to strangers.

In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Arnold.

Jama is survived by her mother, Phyllis Gunning; husband, Michael "Frog" Heffner; daughters, Trinity Williams, Ire'Yanna Williams, Saniyah Wallace; stepdaughters, Angel Earp, Jennifer Small; sister, Staci Lipscomb; nieces and nephews, Dustin Lipscomb, Hollis Lipscomb, Megan Lipscomb, Carley Lipscomb; great nieces and nephews, Iliana, Christian, Jevaeh, Rylee, Londyn, Braylen, Julian, Mason, Levi, Amiyah; bonus sister, Shirley Edwards.

A Celebration of Life Service officiated by Pastor Ron Duncan, will be held Saturday, August 19, 2023, 3:00 PM, at The Place Church, 4639 Chapel Grove Church Rd. Gastonia, NC 28052.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at the church prior to the service.
