Jackie Ghorley

Jackie Levon Ghorley Jr., 51, affectionately known as "Von", was born on November 17, 1974, in Gaston County, North Carolina and passed away on December 3, 2025, in Dallas, NC. He was a beloved son, an adoring uncle, and a kind-hearted friend to many. Von's spirit will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew him.

Growing up, Von had a passion for baseball that sparked his love of the game. He enjoyed playing with friends as a child and continued to be an avid supporter of the sport throughout his life. An enthusiastic fan of Tar Heel Basketball, Von took immense joy in cheering for his favorite team, fostering unforgettable moments with family and friends during game days.

He was loved by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, especially his family: nephews and nieces, Dalton Ghorley (Hannah), Deonna Simmons, Chase Simmons, Terry Ghorley, and Amber Simmons; uncle, Donnie Black; cousin, Shaun Black; and numerous other friends.

Von was preceded in death by his parents, Jackie and Sandra Ghorley; sister, Tammy Ghorley.

A gathering of friends and family to celebrate Von's life will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Sparrow Springs Baptist Church, 6147 Lewis Road, Gastonia, NC 28052. Everyone is invited to come to share stories, laughter, and to honor a life lived with kindness and love.

We will remember Von not only for his passion for sports and his dedication to his family but also for the warmth he brought to our lives. As we celebrate Von, let us reflect on the joy he shared and the memories we created together.
