Jack Edward York, 74, of Gastonia, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016, at Caromont Regional Medical Center, Gastonia.
He was born March 12, 1941, in Gaston County, son of the late William John York and Lenore Anderson York.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry M. York.
Left to cherish his memories are his son, Jeff M. York; daughter, Sonya Y. Mellone; grandchildren, Cory P. York, wife, Jordan and Joseph A. Mellone, Jr.; and niece, Lisa Y. Thompson.
A gathering of family and friends will be held 6-8pm on Tuesday at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S York Rd., Gastonia.
Interment is private.
Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
