Jack Boyd McCall

July 12, 1954 — May 31, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jack Boyd McCall, a beloved father, devoted husband, and cherished friend, who left us on May 31, 2026, at the age of 71. Jack was born on July 12, 1954, in Bridgeton, NJ, and spent his life in service to his family and the trade of painting, making a remarkable impact in the paint contracting industry working for Charlotte Paint Company for 40 years.

Jack was an extraordinary man who found joy in the simple things in life. He had an unwavering love for his family, and nothing brought him more happiness than spending time with them. He is survived by his loving spouse, Kay McCall; brother Bo Ellis; sisters Hope McClure, Wanda Lancaster and April Huffman; son Shawn McCall; daughter-in-law Kathi McCall; grandson Lathan Morgan; and granddaughter Keilee McCall. Jack was known for his kind heart and was truly the kindest man one could ever know.

An outdoor enthusiast, Jack loved camping and spent many afternoons working around his pool, always eager to do things the right away. His passion for life included his love for NASCAR and cheering for his favorite football teams-the Panthers and the Miami Dolphins. Jack had a special bond with his dog, Piper, who brought him endless joy and companionship. His knowledge of the weather was impressive, he earned the nickname of "Cloudy McCall", often sharing insightful tidbits that made his family appreciate the world around them that much more. A hard worker, Jack dedicated himself to his work and was always ready to lend a hand or offer wise advice.

Jack made a lasting impression on everyone who crossed his path, always emphasizing the importance of family and togetherness. We will carry his memory with us as an enduring reminder of the beautiful life he lived.

A funeral service officiated by Pastor Chris Doster will be held Thursday, June 4, 2026, 2:00 PM at Maranatha Baptist Church in Dallas, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Gaston Memorial Park.

Jack was preceded in death by his father James McCall, mother Coleen Hall, and sisters Dolly McClure and Renee Stewart.
