Jack Martin

Jack Douglas Martin, 79, of Gastonia, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021, at Caromont Regional Medical Center surrounded by his family.

Born on May 2, 1942, in Cherokee County, NC, Jack was the son of the late Howard Vaughn Martin and Edith Montgomery Posey.

Jack was a former assistant manager at the ABC Store on S. York Rd in Gastonia, where he later on retired after 25 years of service. He loved to work on antique cars and watch sports on tv. Jack loved his fur babies.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Taylor.

Left to cherish Jack's memories are his loving wife of 57 years, Cecilia Martin; son, Jimmy Martin; daughter, Rocia Lewis; brothers, Johnny Martin and Mike Martin; sister, Pat; grandchildren, Dylan Martin and Gabrielle Monroe; and several nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S York Rd, Gastonia, NC 28052.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Gaston Hospice – PO Box 3984, Gastonia, NC 28054.

The South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium is assisting the family.
