Jack Hollander

October 26, 1935 — June 19, 2016

Jack Hollander, 80, of Lenoir, passed away June 19, 2016 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Lenoir.

He was born October 26, 1935 in Avery County, the son of the late Oliver Bishope Hollander and Alma Coffee Hollander.

Jack was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Lenoir.  He was a veteran of the US Navy who served during the Korean War.  Jack was an avid bass player.  He received the Governor's Special Service Award for NC Forestry Service.  He loved his family and will be missed dearly.

Left to cherish his memories are his sons Timothy Hollander and wife Cookie, Mark Hollander; daughters Jackie Hollander, Melissa Hollander, Cathy Burns and husband Jamie; brother Brian Hollander; sister Direne Annas; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Lillie Gregg Hollander.

A funeral service officiated by Pastor Dewey Bristol will be held 12 noon Thursday, June 23rd   at Liberty Baptist Church, 213 Hazel Lee Street, Lenoir.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Interment will be in Hollander Family Cemetery in Roseboro.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
