Jack Z. Campbell, Sr. 83, of Cramerton, passed away June 28, 2014, at Kings Mountain Hospice House. He was born October 23, 1930 in Gaston County, son of the late Alan Campbell and Bessie Lytton Campbell. Jack was a loving and devoted father and grandfather, who was a very giving person to help anyone in need. He was a US Army Veteran during the Korean War, and was employed at Reeves Brothers in Bessemer City for 32 years. He will be truly missed by family and friends. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 15 years, Margaret H. Campbell and brother, Hub Campbell. He is survived by sons, Marty Campbell, Jack Campbell, Jr.; daughters, Judy Eldridge (Tim), Jackie Lewis, Melissa "Lisa" Parsons (Steve), Melissa K. Cogburn; brothers, Boyce Campbell, Harold Campbell, Ronnie Campbell; sisters, Corrine Russell, Jewel Lathan, Barbara Strait; 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held 1 pm Tuesday, July 1, at the South Chapel of Greene funeral Service, 1503 South York Rd, Gastonia, officiated by Rev. Jerry Millwood. The family will receive friends after the service. Interment is private. Memorials may be made to Kings Mountain Hospice House, 321 Kings Mountain Blvd, Kings Mountain, NC 28086. Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
