Ivy Joe Butler

Ivy Joe Butler, 72, passed away August 19, 2022, at Carolinas Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC

He was born April 20, 1950, to the late L.C. Butler and Mazie Lee Terrell Butler in Lincoln County Mississippi.

Ivy was a veteran of the US Army and an avid gardener; he was a welder in tool manufacturing and was a licensed referee for soccer. He also worked at John Deere for 28 years, where he was a civil engineer and supervisor over the generator line.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by adopted daughter, Victoria Butler; two brothers, LC Butler Jr. and Tommy Butler; one sister, Faye Butler.

Ivy is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Vicky Gohl Butler, one son, Isaaca Newton, one daughter, Geneva Butler, one sister Elaine Butler and several grandchildren.
