Isabel Richards Huffstetler

Isabel Richards Huffstetler, 90, of Dallas, NC died at her residence fondly known as "Huffstetler House" on November 1, 2022. She was born on February 10, 1932, in Cleveland County, NC to the late Mr. James Edley Richards and Mrs. Zula Etta Cook Richards.  She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pervie R. Huffstetler and Daughter, Rosetta H. Lepley Propst. Isabel was also preceded in death by each of her siblings: Loyd Richards, Odus Richards, Elva R. Helton, Lee Roy Richards, Ruby R. Ferguson, James Edley Richards Jr., Lillie Mae Richards, Herbert Hoover Richards, Mary Etta R. Lepley, Rosivella R. Freemon, David Rogers Richards, B. G. (Billy) Richards, and Buddy Richards.

Isabel worked for some years at Hardin Mill before beginning her career at Mary Jo's Cloth Store. She worked alongside Mary Jo Cloninger and many wonderful friends, inspiring and educating people about fabrics and sewing for over 44 years before retiring to care for her husband and tend her day lilies.

She will be missed dearly by her family, who will keep her many lessons and memories close to heart: Her son, Eugene Winstead; her granddaughters, Pam Lepley (married to Matthew Carpenter) and Marla Lepley-Starr; her grandson, Marshall E. Winstead (and life partner Deborah Bauman); her great-grandson, Devon M. Lepley-Starr (married to Tika Lepley-Starr);  and her great-granddaughters, Kaela R. Kiser (married to Benn Kiser), Alexandra I. Carpenter Seamon (married to Jacob Seamon) and Willa A. Carpenter.

Services for Mrs. Huffstetler will be held on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at Salem Baptist Church, 1982 Salem Church Rd, Lincolnton, NC 28092. Receiving Family and Friends will be held from 2:00-2:45pm in the Sanctuary and the Memorial Service begins at 3:00pm. Interment will be held privately with the family after the Memorial Service.
