Irene Manning Stewart

Gastonia, NC Irene Manning Stewart, 89, passed away January 23, 2013, at Peak Resources of Gastonia. She was born May 4, 1923 in Cherokee County, SC, daughter of the late Rufus and Alice McDaniel Manning. A funeral service will be held 3 pm on Saturday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Marshall Owens. The family will receive friends 2-3 pm prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.Interment will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City. She is survived by: children, Dorothy Beatty and husband, Keith, Rita Chitwood and husband, Donald, Larry Stewart Jr., Donny Woody; sister, Gladys Manning Parham; 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Larry Stewart Sr.; brothers, Carson and William "Dub" Manning. Memorials may be made to Friendly Baptist Church, 1422 N.
