Irene Flowers Davis

Irene Flowers Davis, 98, native of Bessemer City, went home to be with her Lord on March 25, 2018, at Belaire Health Care Center, Gastonia.
She was born July 6, 1919, in Gaston County, daughter of the late Walter G. Flowers and Ola Pennington Flowers.
Mrs. Davis was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in Bessemer City. Her love of God, family and going to church were her biggest priorities in life. She was an avid gardner and loved tending to her flowers. She enjoyed meeting people and never met a stranger.
A funeral service will be held 3:00pm Saturday, March 31, 2018, at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesdes Rd. Gastonia, officiated by the Reverends Steve Fain and Jerry Millwood.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Westview Gardens, Bessemer City.
Mrs. Davis is survived by sons, Jerry Davis and wife, Brenda, James Thurman Davis, Earl Davis and wife, Pat, all of Bessemer City; sister, Lois Owensby of Kings Mountain; grandchildren, Donna Davis, Allana Bryson, Alan Davis, Jonathan, Daniel and Ishmael Davis; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband, Thurman Paul Davis; six brothers; two sisters.
Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
