Ida Mae Phillips, 92, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Lincolnton Rehabilitation Center, Lincolnton, NC.
She was born March 1, 1929, in Gaston Co, NC, daughter of the late Hubert and Lula High.
Mrs. Phillips was a member of Ranlo Baptist Church. She was a former member of Maylo United Methodist Church, where she worked with the youth. She graduated from the Evans Business School, Gastonia. She volunteered at the Gaston Memorial Hospital and the Red Cross. Mrs. Phillips loved working in her yard.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Judge Ralph Phillips; and siblings, Rev. Samuel High, Rev. Clyde High, Judson High, Rev. Charles High, Rev. Fred High, Rachel Kiser, Inez Harris, and Elizabeth Baucom.
Mrs. Phillips is survived by her sons, Charles Phillips (Sherry), Jim Phillips (Kay), and David Phillips (Paula); daughters, Judy Greene, and Becky Barnes (Terry); brother, Paul High (Pat); sisters, Frances Cauthen, and Shirley Caldwell; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service officiated by Pastor James Land, will be held 2pm on Sunday, October 17, 2021, at Gaston Memorial Park - 1200 S New Hope Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054 .
Family will receive friends following the graveside service at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to, Ranlo Baptist Church - 1517 Spencer Mountain Rd, Gastonia, NC 28054 .
