Hugh Parker Holland

Hugh Parker Holland, 76, of Kings Mountain, went to be with the Lord on February 10, 2016, at Carolinas Healthcare System Cleveland in Shelby.

He was born October 15, 1939, in Graham County, son of the late Rev. Ronald Holland and Bessie Parker Holland.

Mr. Holland was a US Navy veteran. He was retired from the Kings Mountain School System after 32 years of service. He loved his family dearly, especially his wife, Carolyn of 56 years. He never met a stranger and one of his favorite quotes to his children was "Make yourself at home and stay as long as you want".

A private funeral service will be held with Navy military honors.

The family will receive friends 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at Greene Funeral Service, West Chapel, 216 Archie Whitesides Rd. Gastonia.

Mr. Holland is survived by his wife, Carolyn M. Holland; sons, Hugh Holland and wife, Sandy, Ron Holland and wife, Pam, Dwight Holland and wife, Kim, David Holland and wife, Janella; daughter, Carol Anne Grigg and fiancé, Phil Barto; brother, Ronnie Holland; sister, Ann Hardin and husband, Carroll. He is also survived by his twelve grandchildren, one great – grandchild and former son-in-law, Don Grigg.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Maxine Holland, Bobbie Jo Holland and Billie May Rouse.

Arrangements are with the West Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
