Hugh Bickett Craft, Sr.

Hugh Bickett Craft, Sr., 100, of Gastonia, passed away, Saturday, March 17, 2018 at his residence.

Hugh was born October 1, 1917, in Lincoln County, son of the late Dorus Puckett Craft and Sarah Mae Queen.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Gastonia.  Hugh served in the US Army in Europe during World War II.

Left to cherish his memories are his sons Hugh Craft, Jr., Carroll Craft and wife Jenny, James Craft; daughters, Jan Craft Chambers and husband Scott, Nan C. Howell and husband Jim; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Nancy "Nan" Catherine Goforth Craft; brother, Yates Craft; sisters, Pauline Bolch and Sue Coon and granddaughter, Wendy Craft Brooks.

Visitation will be held from 11 am – 12 pm at Greene Funeral Service, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia.

A graveside service, officiated by Pastor Steven Fuller will be held 12:30 pm, Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Gaston Memorial Park, with military honors provided by the Gaston County Honor Guard.

Following the service, the family will have a lunch reception at the Rankin-Mercer House Estate and Gardens, 1313 S. York Rd.
