Howard E. Railey

Gastonia, NC Howard E. Railey, age 81, passed away March 7, 2013 at the Robin Johnson Hospice House, Dallas. A native of Chester, SC, Howard was the son of the late Otis B. and Letha H. Railey. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers. Howard was a member of Taylor Memorial Baptist Church and a previous member of Faith Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, R.A. Leader and various other leadership positions. He was a Korean War Veteran and received the Purple Heart and other hero medals. Howard retired from FMC Lithium after 30 years of service. He is survived by: his wife of 43 years, Alenda "Linda" Crane Railey; 2 daughters, Roxann R. Mize of Gastonia and Sherry R. Simpson (Brian) of Crouse; 1 brother, Jerry Railey of Lowell; 4 grandchildren. The funeral will be held 11 am on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, with a one hour visitation before the service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Gaston Memorial Park with full military honors by the Gaston County Honor Guard.
