Howard Hall

Sgt. Howard Lee Hall, 66, of 4018 Brown Dr. Belmont, NC, passed away Monday, June 25th, at Gaston Memorial Hospital, Gastonia. He was born January 18, 1946 in Mecklenburg County, son of the late James R. and Velma Williamson Hall. Mr. Hall was a Army Vietnam Veteran, having received a Purple Heart. He was a member of East Belmont Free Will Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held 4 pm on Friday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Pastor Scottie Stewart. The family will receive friends 3-4 pm on Friday prior to the service at the funeral home. A private inurnment will be at the VA Salisbury National Cemetery. He is survived by: daughter, Julie Thompson and husband, Eugene; brothers, Jimmie R. Hall and wife, Judy, David Hall and wife, Judy; sister, Glyda Godfrey; 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: brother, Bill Hall; sisters, Margaret Hall Detter, Hazel Hall Rector, Joanne Hall Martin.
