It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Horace Wilson Billings Jr., who left us on April 23, 2026. Born on July 2, 1955, to the late Horace and Mary Billings Sr, in Gastonia, North Carolina, Horace was a true local who spent his life contributing to the community he loved.
Horace was a coin and rock collector, and he also loved to cook. He was a friend of the UVA and cooked at the lodge for the veterans. He was a Sunshine route salesman for 25 years and also worked at Turbo Conveyor in Kings Mountain.
Horace is survived by his son, Sonny Billings (Callie); best friend, Terry Neal; brothers, Bruce Billings, Tommy Billings; sister, Ida Langley; grandchildren, Gracie, Morgen and Luke Billings; great-granddaughter, Lakeleigh Billings, who will carry on his legacy. He made a lasting impression on everyone he met with his warmth, wit, and kind spirit.
In addition to his parents, Horace was also preceded in death by his son, Brian Keith Billings; numerous brothers and sisters.
Services will be scheduled at a later date, family available at the son's home.
