Homer Hardin Welch

Gastonia, NC Homer Hardin Welch, 91, passed away March 19, 2013 at Peak Resources of Gastonia. He was born May 5, 1921 in Robbinsville, NC, son of the late Milton and Joshie Philips Welch. Mr. Welch was a US Army WWII Veteran. He was a member of VFW, Absher-Flowers Post #9337. The family wishes to thank the staff of Peak Resources for their compassionate care of Mr. Welch. A celebration of life service will be held 2 pm on Friday at Greene Funeral Service, South Chapel, 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, officiated by Rev. Scottie Lee Stewart. The family will receive friends 1-2 pm on Friday, prior to the service at the funeral home. The interment will be held at Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia, with military honors by the Gaston County Honor Guard. He is survived by: daughters and sons in-law, Pansy and Hugh Jones, Sandra and Joe Sides, Judy and Jose Rodriguez; 6 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by: his wife of 56 years, Susie Henrietta Welch; 3 brothers and 4 sisters.
