Hillis Faye Payne

Our dear Hillis Faye Payne, beloved wife, mother, and homemaker, passed away on October 4, 2024, at the age of 82 in Dallas, NC. She was known for her dedication to her family, particularly her church family at Independent Baptist Tabernacle in Dallas. Hillis will forever be remembered for her love of crafting and her warm, welcoming spirit.

Born in North Carolina on March 2, 1942, Hillis lived a fulfilling life as a homemaker, finding joy in caring for her loved ones and her own home. Her love and kindness touched the lives of everyone around her, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She leaves behind her loving sons, Brian Payne (Tammy) and Scott Payne; grandsons, Zach and Jordan Payne;

A graveside service to honor and celebrate Hillis Faye Payne's life will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Belmont, NC, on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at 2:00 pm. We invite all friends, family, and members of the community to join us in commemorating the life of this remarkable woman. Her memory will forever live on in our hearts.

Hillis was preceded in death by her parents James and Emily Smith; her husband Richard "Dickie" Payne; brother Richard Smith.
