Hildred Doby Painter, 97, of Gastonia, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2020, in her daughter's home, Rockhill, SC.
She was born April 3, 1923, in Gaston County, daughter of the late Will and Bertha Overcash Doby.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Painter; son, Bobby Painter; and all her siblings.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Frances Clark & husband, Robert, Joyce Meeks and husband, Bobby; grandchildren, Robert Meeks Jr., Michelle St. Clair, James Clark and wife, Whitney, Dana Lipscomb, and Bobby Painter; 7 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held 2:00 pm on Wednesday at Gaston Memorial Park Mausoleum, Gastonia. Rev. Richard Cole will be officiating.
The family will receive friends 1:30-2:00 pm before the service at the cemetery.
