Herta Edwards

Herta Edwards, 83, of Gastonia, NC, passed away Monday, November 29, 2021, at her residence.

She was born May 20, 1938, in Czecholslovakia, daughter of the late Emil Friedl and Stefanie Dura Friedl.

Herta was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Gottfried Friedl and Eric Friedl.

Herta is survived by her husband of 65 years, Richard F. Edwards; daughters, Susan Edwards and Derrick Cooper, Linda Jacobs, and Cyndi McCall and husband, David; sister, Erika Friedl, 6 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service – 1503 S. York Rd., Gastonia, NC 28052.

Family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, Belmont.
