Herman Wilford Ingle

August 27, 1927 — February 14, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Herman Wilford Ingle, a cherished husband, father, friend, and US Army veteran, who left us peacefully on February 14, 2026, at the age of 98. Born on August 27, 1927, in North Carolina, Herman touched the lives of those around him with his warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his family.

Herman served in the Army during World War II and the Korean War and was a Sergeant in the Military Police.

Herman enjoyed spending time fishing, working in his garden, and sitting on his porch relaxing. He adored his family, and his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren always had a special place in his heart.

A beloved member of the community, Herman had served as a deacon at Hardin Baptist Church, worked for Rudisill in Dallas, and was retired from GSM after over 30 years.

Herman's professional journey as an HVAC installer at GSM showcased not only his skills but also his commitment to providing comfort for others. His hands-on approach and keen problem-solving abilities made him a respected figure in the HVAC community, and he took great pride in his work.

Known for his loving spirit and gentle nature, Herman will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 73 years, Lois Ingle; his beloved daughters, Linda Reid (Jerry) and Virginia Skiles (Jack); nephews, Terry Ingle, Bill Ingle; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was a constant source of support, wisdom, and love, and the memories he created with his family will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

A memorial service honoring Herman's life will be held at Hardin Community Baptist Church on February 20, 2026, at 2:00 PM. Prior to the service, a visitation will take place at the same location, starting at 1:00 PM, allowing friends and family to come together to celebrate his remarkable life and share their cherished memories. Pastor Justin Driver and Pastor Fain Farmer will officiate.

Memorials may be made to Hardin Community Baptist Church, 548 Hardin Rd, Dallas, NC 28034.

In this time of mourning, we encourage all to remember Herman not just for the day of his passing, but for the love and joy he brought into our lives. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you express your sentiments through acts of kindness in Herman's memory. He may have departed from our sight, but his spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Herman was preceded in death by his parents, James and Cleo Ingle; brothers, Howard Ingle, Bud Ingle; sisters, Nell Ingle, Ann Reynolds; and brother-in-law, Clyde Costner.
